Backing local healthcare services

Priti continues to campaign to secure improvements and new investment in local health, social care, and mental health services. She regularly meets local doctors, nurses, and paramedics, has successfully campaigned for more GPs to be trained locally at Anglia Ruskin University, and has frequent discussions with Government Ministers about the provision of healthcare services in this part of Essex.

Part of this campaigning has been for a new multi-purpose and fully integrated health centre to be established in Witham Town. A new health centre is vital to support the needs of a growing population and provide new health services, improve social care provision, upgrade patient pathways and alleviate pressures on local primary and secondary healthcare services. The development of a new health centre in Witham Town is supported by Mid and South Essex ICS, the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England and NHS Improvement, Braintree District Council and Witham Town Council.

During her time as Witham’s MP, Priti has worked with the NHS locally to address concerns about access to GP and dental appointments, raised constituent concerns with local hospitals over waiting times, and has lobbied for more treatments and healthcare services to be made available at Broomfield and Colchester Hospitals and in our local communities. Priti is also working with the NHS and Essex County Council to improve access to social care services and support for elderly residents.

With new housing and population growth across this part of Essex, Priti has been calling for more resources to be made available from developers to support new and improved health facilities in local villages including in Kelvedon, Tiptree, and Stanway.
